Agricultural Mechanics (Diesel) students at the Belmont Career Center have been practicing their welding skills this winter. The curriculum in instructor Bryan Clark's program consists of engine rebuilding, electrical systems, engine troubleshooting, hydraulic systems, and welding and fabricating.

As part of the welding and fabricating component, junior students take used automotive parts and build an alligator. Through this process, students learn cutting and different welding techniques.

The large alligator will be on display at the Ohio Valley Mall Craft Show in April. Pictured with the alligators, from left, are Brendon Morris, Union Local, Tylor Work, St. Clairsville, Eric Wilt, Bridgeport and James Corbett, Union Local.
