Career Center Students Awarded $26,000 in Scholarships

Several students from the Belmont and Harrison Career Centers received scholarships during the annual Senior Certificate and Awards Presentations held recently.

Muller Scholarships were awarded to twenty students. The Muller Scholarship was established several years ago in memory of Bernard W. and Carl F. Muller, residents of Belmont County.

Students receiving $1000 Muller Scholarships were Jamie Bumgardner, Union Local; Robert Dixon, Harrison Central; Kearston Drewett, Bridgeport; Kyla Duff, Martins Ferry; Brianna Fuhr, Bellaire; Franklin Kirkpatrick, Union Local; Kayla Mansfield, Harrison Central; Natalie Maffe, Bellaire; Destyne Murry, Martins Ferry; Damon Nagy, Martins Ferry; Brandi Newsome, Harrison Central; Cheyanne Overfield, Martins Ferry; Shania Richmond, Barnesville; Alexis Wagner, Barnesville; and Sheila Williamson, Harrison Central.

Students receiving $2000 Muller Scholarships were Carli Crupe, Martins Ferry; Markus Fisher, Harrison Central; Abagail Lutman, Bellaire; Travis McDonald, Harrison Central; and Zach Skinner, Barnesville.

The American Red Cross Scholarship of $500, which recognizes a health occupations student dedicated to serving the community, was awarded to Jamie Bumgardner, a Union Local student who completed the Allied Health Science program.

The C. Robert Grimes Memorial Scholarship of $500, in memory of former Belmont-Harrison Vocational School District superintendent Robert Grimes, was also awarded to Jamie Bumgardner.
