Christie Shoemaker, a junior in the Visual Graphics & Web Design program at the Harrison Career Center, was recently notified that she won first place in the Fall 2015 Photo Illustration High School Competition at Kent State University-Tuscarawas in New Philadelphia.
The competition began in October. She spent the day at Kent State participating in the Photo Illustration class. Students then had several weeks to submit an entry in the competition. She was notified March 1 that she was the first place winner.
Shoemaker received a $100 cash prize and a $1,500 scholarship. Her instructor is Michele Grant.
