Two Harrison Career Center students placed at the 14th annual Welding Competition recently held at Zane State College in Cambridge.

Trent McDonald placed 4th overall and Joey McCann took 6th place honors at the event. McDonald won a Harris Torch set, welding gloves and a skull (welding) cap. McCann won a Miller auto-darkening hood, gloves and skull cap. In addition, both students earned American Welding Society (AWS) D1.5 certification after having their test coupons evaluated by a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).

"Joey and Trenton were up against some of the best welding students in the area," stated instructor Greg Guthrie.
