Construction Trades

The Construction Trades program is designed for 9th grade students. Freshmen will complete courses in construction technology and principles of wood construction. Students will learn basic safety, construction math, hand and power tool use, blueprint reading and material handling.

Additional courses available are fundamentals of architecture and construction, structural systems and plan reading, Students will read and create construction drawings and use hand tools to create basic construction projects and models. Students will learn procedures and techniques for layout and framing of walls and ceilings, including door and window openings. Students will learn methods of roofing and stair framing. Students will also learn blueprint reading to interpret floor planning.
