Welding is used in many manufacturing processes, to fabricate parts and repair equipment. It is used in various construction trades, on structural steel highrises and highway bridges, in power plants and on cross-country pipelines. A skilled welder can find employment anywhere in the world. As long as there are products made of metal, welding will continue to play a major role in US manufacturing.

Students will gain experience with a variety of welding processes on multiple types of materials. Primary instruction includes welding safety, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, plasma and oxyfuel cutting, blueprint reading and OSHA safety. Students are exposed to welding codes and standards, welding inspection and to the certification process. They will also learn about apprenticeship opportunities available with several trade unions.

The Welding program is available to 10th, 11th and 12th grade students.
