BCC Seniors Receive Certificates May 22

Belmont Career Center students were honored during the 48th annual Senior Certificate Ceremony and Awards Presentation on May 22. The program was held in the Health & Physical Education Center at Ohio University Eastern.

Scholarship, attendance, outstanding career-technical student awards, and career-technical certificates were presented to 90 seniors.

Top honor students were Britney Showalter, daughter of Crystal Colvin of Belmont and Steven Showalter of Barnesville, and Erin Sutton, daughter of Gerry and Jarrod Sutton of St. Clairsville.

Showalter has completed the Hair Design program, received her state board license and graduated from Barnesville High School. She has been on the Principal's List and Honor Roll while maintaining a 4.0 grade point average throughout high school. She has been named "Student of the Month," participated in the Knowledge Bowl and was a tour guide at the career center. She was also a Scholastic Honors award winner and received the C. Robert Grimes Memorial Scholarship.

She plans to work at a hair salon after graduation.

Sutton has also completed the Hair Design program, received her state board license and graduated from St. Clairsville High School. She has been on the Honor Roll and Principal's List throughout high school. She was a member of the Staying Clean Club for two years and had perfect attendance her freshman and sophomore years.

She plans to continue her education at Belmont College.

Seniors recognized for completing their career-technical program were:

AGRICULTURAL MECHANICS (DIESEL) - Taylor Coast, Nikita Cunningham, Nathan Dawson, Annahmarie Funkhouser, Brianna Hale, Zach Marbais, Tyler Roberts and Josie Whiteley.

ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCE - Jordan Cumberledge, Destiny Trager and Evelena Trimmer.

AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY - Hunter Baker, Kaitlyn Beck-Barath, Brandon Calovini, Chris Davis, Brandon Daugherty, Devon Kovacs, Lane Krohn, Cody Leach, Ethan Leiffer, Trevor Leiffer, Kyle Mclaughlin, Tommy Miller, Brady Reed, Cody Triplett and Scott Wilson.

CARPENTRY - Cody Coleman, Lane Emory, Meadow Gerevics, Tyler Lewis, Timothy Littleton, Adam Loughman, Cory Schramm, Chris Shunk, Frank Williams and Dakota Wilson.

DENTAL ASSISTING - Nahtasha Channel, Aleathia Maher and Rhandella McGilton.

HAIR DESIGN - Vanessa Hayes, Rebekah McGlothlin, Britney Showalter and Erin Sutton.

PC & NETWORK TECHNOLOGY - Michael Armiger, Andrew Benham, Ryan Breiding, Johnathon Creer, Austin Graham, Zach Greenfield, Shane Holstein, Ian Johnston, Eric Ludolph, Dalton Macurak and Tyler Quillin.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - Laklynn Carpenter, Brad Ditoro, Mariah Huntsman, Ashlee Keffer, Emily Mazik, Lillian Ramsay and Haley Rutan.

PRECISION MACHINING - Dakota Cox, Devynn Edwards, Jeff Krone, Patrick Leonard, Solar Perry, Matt Schmidt and Eddie Toson.

SMALL ENGINE TECHNOLOGY - Ryan Bonfini, Reece Evans, Aubrey Kemp, Kayla Palmer, Julie Ramsay and Payton Ramsey.

WELDING - Zeb Bashline, Hunter Boyd, Dylan Ewing, Zack Fain, Neil Gibbons, Nicole Johnston, Craig Mann, Travis Mann, Hunter Markovich, Makayla McCarthy, Austin Saffell, Ty Swallie and Bryson Utter.
